Engineered to match the high automated speed and strict ESG regulations of European manufacturing networks.
As Northern Europe's leading logistical Gateway, the Metropolitan Region of Hamburg demands packaging materials that withstand extreme mechanical stresses, moisture variations, and long transit cycles. From the processing hubs surrounding the Port of Hamburg (Hafen Hamburg) to modern consumer goods packaging operations in Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony, packaging systems require high reliability and speed.
Polyolefin (POF) Shrink Film has emerged as the premier choice over traditional PVC alternatives. Modern automated distribution networks demand materials with high tear strength, superior clarity for retail presentation, and exceptional seal integrity. With Germany’s strict adherence to the Verpackungsgesetz (VerpackG), regional operators must focus on materials that fit seamlessly into the circular economy.
Bridging current polymer science with future sustainable packaging demands.
For decades, Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) film was preferred due to its low shrink temperature and rigidity. However, PVC releases corrosive hydrogen chloride gas during sealing, which damages packing machinery and poses occupational hazards. Furthermore, PVC does not comply with the circular waste goals of the German market.
Our modern 5-layer and 7-layer co-extrusion Polyolefin (POF) films replace PVC with an advanced blend of Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) and Polypropylene (PP). This creates a film with high tensile strength, outstanding puncture resistance, and unmatched optical clarity. The formulation ensures no toxic fumes are generated, protecting both operators and packaging equipment.
For high-speed automated packaging, standard POF can suffer from burn-through holes or weak seals. Our cross-linked POF films solve this by using an electron-beam irradiation process that cross-links the polymer chains. This molecular reinforcement yields:
Over 93% light transmission index, enhancing product shelf appeal and barcode readability in retail chains.
Engineered to shrink at lower temperatures, saving energy and protecting heat-sensitive products like confectionary.
Multidirectional orientation during biaxial stretching guarantees high tear propagation resistance.
How specialized shrink films address specific challenges across diverse industrial vertical markets.
For bakery operations, food exporters, and egg distributors, our hot-perforated POF films allow controlled gas release, preventing moisture condensation inside the package. The film maintains tight shrink wraps without distorting delicate containers, complying with EU food-contact regulations (EC No 1935/2004).
For promotions and protective transport bundling, high-speed L-Bar and side-seal machines require films that run continuously without tearing. Our cross-linked POF film ensures strong, clean seals on high-speed equipment, preventing split packs during shipping through Northern German logistics hubs.
A flawless appearance is critical for luxury packaging, books, and cosmetics. Our low-shrinkage POF film wraps items tightly without warping paperboards or thin covers. High clarity allows branding and graphics to show through vibrantly.
Spare parts, automotive parts, and machinery require thick, puncture-resistant barrier films. Our custom PE and thick POF formulations offer protection from moisture, dust, and handling scratches during export transit.
Integrating logistics efficiency with strict European sustainability directives.
Navigating Germany's regulatory framework requires compliant, certified materials. Our polyolefin formulations are designed to meet local recycling targets, ensuring they are compatible with standard sorting and recovery processes like Der Grüne Punkt (The Green Dot) and the Duale Systeme.
By opting for down-gauged films (e.g., transitioning from 19-micron to 15-micron or 12-micron high-performance films), Hamburg businesses can reduce total plastic packaging volume by weight. This directly reduces license fees for packaging systems and supports corporate sustainability targets without compromising package integrity.
We work closely with local distribution partners and logistics providers in the Hamburg metropolitan area to ensure consistent supply and optimized stock management, reducing warehouse footprints and transport-related carbon emissions.

Addressing technical challenges in polyolefin application engineering and global procurement logistics.
POF (Polyolefin) is 100% recyclable, non-toxic, and does not emit corrosive gases during sealing. PVC releases hydrochloric acid gas which damages equipment and is restricted by EU environmental directives. POF is also highly flexible and does not become brittle at low temperatures, making it suitable for cold chain logistics.
"Dog-ears" occur when the corners of the shrink film do not shrink fully, leaving triangular flaps. This is caused by insufficient heat, uneven air evacuation, or using a film with low shrink percentage. Adjusting the air velocity in the shrink tunnel, adding air evacuation holes, or switching to our cross-linked high-performance films can help eliminate this issue.
Cross-linked POF film undergoes an electron-beam irradiation process that cross-links the polymer chains. This increases its puncture resistance, seal strength, and shrink force, allowing it to withstand high processing speeds on automated machines without burning through.
POF film has a shelf life of over 12 months when stored in a cool, dry warehouse below 30°C. High temperatures and direct sunlight should be avoided to prevent pre-shrinkage or degradation of the roll structure.
